Pitchfork Ranch was founded in 1995 with a love and dedication to producing the best all around horse that will ride. We breed for disposition, conformation, cow sense and all around athleticism. If your desire is to have a top notch performance horse, halter horse or trail horse,
we have the perfect mount for you.
In 1995 our breeding program started with Skips Ol Yeller. Our goal has been in line with Hank Wiescamps philosophy
that “close to the trunk will be the best, for you and me and all the rest”.
Skips Ol Yeller was 100% Wiescamp bred, we are now producing foals from his daughters with a little outcross. In 2005
we purchased Smooth Citation, an own son of Skippers Ring and out of Smooth Wess who is a St. Dancer daughter who we are now
crossing to Skips Ol Yeller daughters.
The Wiescamp lineage horses have numerous AQHA Champions, Superior Halter Horses and Superior Performance Horses in
cutting, reining, roping and western pleasure.
New in
2011 at Pitchfork Ranch we are proud to announce the additon of a wonderful Tennessee Walking Horse stud to lineup as well
as several nice TWH brood mares. Gaited horses are in high demand as more and more people realize the physical benefits of

Many people
ask us how we can raise and often times ride gaited horses and performance quarter horses at the same time. We have come to
know and undertand that just like any other athlethic equipment, you want the right tool for the job. You wouln't run a marathon
in a golf shoe, would you? By raising both top quality athletic quarter horses and quality gaited horses we have our
go-to horses for gaming and cow sports but for trails and comfort we offer both well trained and schooled gaited hores and/or
stud services if you want to raise your own.
